A recent UC Davis graduate, Natalie Cooper is a determined individual with an interest in providing patient care to diverse population groups and public health initiatives. Natalie has had an interest in medicine and Ventura County Health Care Agency for many years. As a student at Buena High School, she volunteered at Ventura County Medical Center. During her first two summers home from college , she interned at the West Ventura Medical Clinic, assisting with patient education and advocacy project implementation for the clinic. Natalie received her Bachelors of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior with a minor in Public Health from UC Davis. During her college years, Natalie’s interest in patient care was enhanced through her work as a caretaker for an elderly woman recovering from a stroke. She was also introduced to the importance of public health initiatives during her time studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she gained valuable insight in providing care to refugees and the differences among medical protocols in other cultures. Natalie is currently working as a Medical Assistant at Ventura Plastic Surgery Specialists as she prepares to apply to Physician’s Assistant school in the spring. The community of Ventura holds a special place in Natalie’s heart, where her interest in the medical field began.
