Retired Ventura County Board of Supervisor
Ventura County Supervisor Kathy Long’s policymaking career spans nearly 40 years. She is currently serving her fifth-term on the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Long is widely recognized for her community engagement, most notably she is Chair of the Ventura County Medical Oversight Committee, Board Member of the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County, Co-Chair of the Regional Defense Partnership-21st Century, and Commissioner on the First 5 Commission.
In addition to her diverse public policy background, she is proud to have been a small business owner in Camarillo. She participates on a number of service organizations such as the Camarillo Noontime Rotary and Chamber of Commerce, American Red Cross President’s Council, and the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo Board of Directors.
Kathy was recognized as “Woman of the Year” in 2015 by the California State Legislature, and “Legislator of the Year” in 2013 by the Chamber of Commerce Alliance of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Her comprehensive knowledge and achievements as a public servant has advanced the health, welfare and public safety of all Ventura County residents.
Kathy earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from Eastern Michigan University. She lives with her husband, Randy, in Camarillo, where they raised their son, Austin, and currently raising their newly adopted mini-poodle: Lola.
