Shalene Hayman
Comptroller
Shalene Hayman graduated from California State University of Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Theory and Practice option. She has worked in the accounting industry for over 25 years, including 12 years for local public accounting firms, as a partner for 6 years in her firm with 3 other principles, and is currently the principle of a consulting company specializing in services focused on contract related managerial finance/accounting positions and fiscal oversight.
Shalene is the Comptroller for the Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County (since 2005) and the CFO for Ojai Valley Sanitary District (since 1998). She is a Small Business Advisor with the SBDC and handles all Quickbook related client questions including teaching QB classes as needed. She consults with other for profit companies and non-profit agencies, such as the Ojai Land Conservancy, The Ojai Foundation, D.R.A.G.G, El Centrito, Oxnard PAL, CASA, C.R.E.W, Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard monthly or as needed.
Shalene has spent over 10 years under contract with The American Red Cross, United Way Ventura County & the Camarillo Health Care District. She worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Camarillo, Santa Paula and Santa Barbara. She has spent significant time working for CAUSE, El Centrito and Caregivers, Volunteers Assisting the Elderly including recreating multi-year Quickbook files for audit purposes. Most of her jobs include budget preparation, monthly financials with direct board reports and assist in annual audits.
Shalene is the Treasurer of her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop and the auditor for Mound Elementary PTO. She sits on the Board of Ventura Coastal Little League. She was named “Who’s Who in Controller/CFO’s” in 2010 & 2011, and lives in Ventura with her husband Mark and their three children.
